We may be a few weeks off New Year, but now is the time to sit down and make a note of your New Years Resolutions!! Well, your Fitness ones at least !!
Although I do preach, I know a lot of you would have let your fitness slip in the month of December, all putting it off until the new year. So plonk your butt on a chair and take a bit of time to make some realistic changes for 2012.
Start by looking at our GOALS. Without Goals you cannot make realistic resolutions.
Look at WHEN you would like to reach your Goal, but make it realistic! (Easter, Summer) Makeshort term Goals and long term Goals. So that you are achieving baby steps almost straight away, which will encourage you to keep going to reach your long term goals.
Short terms goals could include:
Start training before work, at least 2-3 days out of 7.
Make a shopping list and stick to it.
Record weight & measurements on the same day each week.
Write down meal times and what you will eat.
Book a personal trainer if you need help (many have January deals including myself)
Decide what day will be your cheat day and stick to it.
Tell your friends about your resolutions, this will help you stick to it and they may even do the same as you which helps massively.
Keep a note pad of your progress and also a food and training Diary.
Long Term Goals include:
Deciding on a date you want to reach your goal (Summer Holiday or sooner)
Decide on a weight you would like to be or an image in your head you would like to look like.
If you have an image, find a photo of someone you aspire to look like and stick it on your fridge.
Work out each month how much weight you need to shift in order to reach your goals.
If you are looking to put on weight, do the reverse!
Buy a piece of clothing at the size you want to fit into by your Goal date and hang it somewhere visible.
Write a list of words which will describe how you will feel if at your Goal date you have not reached your Goal..
Lastly chose one word that will describe how you will feel if you have reached your Goal, or even exceeded it, and write down one thing that you will be able to do confidently WHEN you reach your GOAL (Strut in a Bikini on a beach/wear a short skirt/wear a Vest to show off new arms/Attend more events with Confidence).
I truly believe that with determination and belief anyone can achieve anything! Believe in yourself, keep MOTIVATED, and never give up!
Some things take time, and if you invest the time you will be a happier person inside and out! Looking good makes you happy, it’s a fact!
