One for the boys this week! … And also the girls that want to build too! (Can’t forget these:)
I’ve been reading up on Nutrition over the past few days, and I know a lot of you are always keen to know what foods can build muscle. There are a lot as we know, and generally we go for the ones which contain lots of protein and little fat. Eggs; lean meat etc etc.
But I stumbled upon an article which gave 4 ideas which may be of interest to you if you want the option of obtaining a little more of your protein from foods.
First on the list was OSTRICH. Ostrich is low-fat but high in protein, and this exotic bird gives your arms and stomach a workout!
Second was COLD-WATER FISH. Salmon and Mackerel are both lean sources of protein. Served with Veg or Pasta, it’s great for a post-workout re-fuel.
Third place was CHILLI-CON-CARNE. Reason being because there is an enzyme in kidney beans which stops the body breaking down carbs. This means your body turns to stored fat for fuel.
Last was SHELLFISH. Oysters and Muscles support thyroid function, which helps to regulate your muscle growth.
So if you’re dieting over the Christmas period for whatever reason, a few ideas here for your Christmas Dinner?! I will be thinking of you when I’m tucking into my Turkey Dinner 😉
