To build a great body, you need to fuel it with good food. Simple changes to your day to day diet can have drastic results before you even look at changing the way you train in the gym.
The healthy eating principles EVERYBODY should learn at school…
1.Avoid eating white carbs in excess – pasta, cereals, bread, potatoes & rice. These foods supply you with the bulk of your daily intake of energy. But in the modern world we live in, we consume far too much of these foods. If you swap the white carbs for something like extra veg, beans or lentils, your daily energy intake will fall by about 40%. This is the single best tip I can offer.
2.Base every meal around protein. Stuck for meal ideas? Start by working out what protein your meal is going to contain. Eating protein makes you feel full up for MUCH longer. The rule of thumb I recommend is at least 30g of protein with every meal. For a quick guide, a piece of meat the size of your fist will be around 25g.
3.Drink more water. Avoid sugary drinks. Drinking more water will make you feel more energetic. You will also have healthier skin. Sugary drinks are a massive no no when trying to slim down. Try to avoid fizzy drinks and fruit juices when losing weight as these are high in sugar. If your body doesn’t use the sugar, it will convert it into fat!
4.Green tea is key. Green tea is one of the best natural drinks in the world. If I were to list all of green tea’s health benefits, it would go on for longer than an episode of X Factor! The main benefits however are accelerated weight loss.
5.High quality fish oils will make you feel fantastic. Fish oils firstly help with weight loss. The most commonly discussed benefits of them however are improved concentration and learning.
It’s as simple as that. By implementing the above 5 changes to your diet, you’ll consume less energy everyday, you’ll feel full up for longer so you won’t get cravings and you’ll feel more energetic and alert from the green tea and fish oil combination.
