After my weekend training with the awesome IFBB pro and Mr Universe Dayo Audi I have learnt a wealth of knowledge and realised I was over training and under eating.
Dayo took me through my weak areas showing me where I need improvements in order to stand a good chance competing. This was focusing on my legs, side laterals and shoulders. I really didn’t realise what was expected of competitors and how they should look, pose and present themselves until I met Dayo. He took me through posing routines as well – I can honestly say it was not easy.
Dayo and me sat down where we discussed about my current diet. We went through my food/nutrition intake while understanding the importance of consuming carbs off season (which is how I am classed at this stage).
My current diet is clean, actually too clean as Dayo commented. Basically with the clean diet I had, he questioned what would I cut nearer the time when dieting for the stage? Nothing, because I have cut too much already – therefore I need more carbs to help me gain more muscle and energy in order to get the best out of my performance and to feed my muscles the glycogen it requires.
This week is the start of a new diet and training plan. I will research new recipes on my days when I’m not training and trash the kitchen – experimenting with foods (better warn the Mother first). I will post the successful recipes, but at the moment it’s good to trial and error until I crack it!!
I did not expect bodybuilding to be easy and certainly did not expect the training to be a breeze. I truly enjoy the hard work I am putting in and excited to see more changes. I know the road will get tougher and tougher but I am very lucky to have Neal Cranwell, Dayo Audi and PumpingFit.com behind me all the way. The journey to me will be worth the blood sweat and tears!
Dayo’s knowledge and training was second to none and I was truly honoured to have worked with him over the weekend – HARD LABOUR TRAINING indeed!!
Check out my training videos and pictures from the weekend with Dayo!
